Jane Doe No More

Last evening I was fortunate to attend an event that featured a new n0n-profit organziati0n, Jane Doe No More whose mission is to is improve the way society responds to victims of sexual assault.  I was astounded to hear the statistics on the number of women that are sexually assaulted: 1 every 2 minutes, 1 in 6 women and college age women are 4 times more likely to be victimized.  What is really scary is that only 40% ever report the incident.

We work in a world where women are the majority of our team members, clients and patients.  I truly believe that it is important for us to support causes that support women.  This is such a valuable cause for society that I would like to ask everyone to support this cause in building awareness through education.  Here is a synopsis of what Jane Doe No More is currently doing:

Sexual Assault Awareness – Jane Doe No More is raising society’s awareness about the crime of sexual assault and the devastating effect it has on the victim, their families, and society at large. Our goal is to change perceptions and behavior toward victims.

Campus Outreach – Jane Doe No More is collaborating with colleges, universities and campus and local law enforcement to heighten awareness about sexual assault on campuses nationwide.

First Responder Education – Jane Doe No More is creating multi-media, enhanced educational tools for use by first responders to improve their interactions with the victim and prevent further emotional harm during the investigative process. See Enhanced Education for Law Enforcement below.

Online Resources – Jane Doe No More provides an online environment that includes resources, expert views, current information on legislation, surveys and the ability for victims and others to communicate.

Please visit the Jane Doe No More website and share this with your family, friends and business associates and let’s support this cause as an industry.

  2. Dear Mr. Acunzo,

I am proud to be associated with a company such as yours. And grateful for your participation in bringing such an important subject to light. The judicial system and defense attorneys have long crucified women testifying against their assailants, leading to great hesitation on the part of the victims to bring their attackers to justice. It is essential that women know they did nothing and do nothing to deserve or provoke sexual assault. Rape is not about sex, as is well known. It is a brutal attack and an exercise of power over the woman.
Thank you for raising awareness on this crucial subject.
